REGARDING NORTHERN IRELAND

Whereas, this World Congress of Fundamentalists, with delegates from fifty countries, learned with alarm of the brazen attempt by the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom to force armed terrorists of Sinn Fein/IRA into the government of Northern Ireland, against the will of the majority population; and

whereas, it notes the recent attacks by these terrorists on Protestant places of worship and those attending them; and

whereas, armed terrorists cannot have any legitimate function whatsoever in a country which claims to be a democracy; therefore be it

Resolved: That we call on Prime Minister Blair to desist immediately from this compromise and to return to proper democratic structures for the good government of Northern Ireland as part of the United Kingdom; and be it further

Resolved: That we commend Dr. Ian Paisley, MP and MEP, on his resounding, unprecedented victory in the recent election to the European Parliament, topping the poll for the fifth time in the European election for Northern Ireland, each time increasing his share of the vote.
