REGARDING THE ECUMENICAL MOVEMENT

Whereas, the ecumenical movement has been spreading as leaven throughout the mainstream churches and all their ministries during the twentieth century, claiming that the Reformation, by which the yoke of Rome was thrown off, generated the sin of division;

and whereas, the World Council of Churches, the principal manifestation of the ecumenical movement, has been developing a program of convergence between the Protestant and Orthodox churches on one side and the Church of Rome on the other, as exemplified in the Lima Liturgy, and has promoted socio-political programs, propagating Marxist philosophy and ideology;

and whereas, even evangelicals are promoting the ecumenical agenda through the "Evangelicals and Catholics Together" movement which has no biblical basis; be it therefore

Resolved: That we, the delegates of the World Congress of Fundamentalists, deplore and denounce the ecumenical movement in all its forms and ramifications, exhorting each other to a greater fidelity to the Word of God, to a more vigorous preaching of the Gospel of Christ, and to a thoroughgoing exposure of the satanically inspired movement which is producing the worldwide confederation of religions of the end time.
