REGARDING THE OLD GUARD

Whereas, the World Congress of Fundamentalists is the fruit of the vision and leadership of Dr. Bob Jones Jr., who served as the chairman of the International Testimony to an Infallible Bible from its inception in 1976 until 1990; and

Whereas, God saw fit to promote him to Glory before this sixth Congress and he is sorely missed; and

whereas, several of our key leaders have also gone to their reward since we last met in London in 1990, including, among others, Dr. Monroe Parker, Dr. B. Myron Cedarholm, Dr. Wayne Van Gelderen, Dr. Arno Q. Weniger, and Dr. Frank Bumpus; therefore be it

Resolved: That we praise God for these servants of Christ; and we hereby resolve to dedicate ourselves to the unfinished task for which they lived and served with such distinction. We do hereby pledge to maintain the course they set and to be loyal and faithful to the cause they champion.
